I hired roto-rooter because I know they are a chain, licensed and could come immediately. I recently purchased a home that requires a lot of plumbing work to be done. I had roto-rooter come out before and do some repairs and they got the job done. There were no issues and everything was explained to me without a problem. However, recently I had them come out, the same tech actually, due to him knowing what all needed to be done. I only needed a disposal, dishwasher installed and the sink in the bathroom repaired, (needed hot water nothing major). I normally oversee all work done on the new home but I was stuck in Oahu due to a flight delay. I needed the work done before Christmas so I could install the last appliance- my stove. I came home to chaos. The dishwasher had been installed in the stove nook! There was pieces of metal and wood shavings everywhere, (I have a 16 month old baby)! The dishwasher had no cords for the electricity, but had the pipes to connect it to the water, TWO holes had been drilled though 3 of my brand new cabinets, (the tech who fixed everything only drilled one small hole in one cabinet for the hoses)! The technician even had a "helper" with him that I had to pay for as well! I got no phone calls asking me where they should install the dishwasher or if they were confused about ANYTHING they could have called me no problem. The wood pallet the dishwasher sits on wasn't even taken off! It was ridiculous, and the tech tried to blame it on me! He said it was my fault because I wasn't there to show him where the dishwasher goes, (how could you confuse the stove nook for the dishwasher nook, these are things I did not think I needed to explain to a plumber)! He then tried to have me charged for the tech that came out to fix what he had done! Even the tech that came out to fix everything was shocked and couldn't believe this had happened, (THAT tech did an excellent job btw). I do believe it is just that particular tech, and I feel like maybe he isn't qualified for what is put in charge of. When I had called the office to talk about the situation, I was handed directly to the tech who screwed everything up. He told me he was the manager. He handled the situation terribly and if he is a manager, wow. I needed these things done so I could cook for Christmas and I didn't know when they could come back, so when I was stuck on Oahu I figured none of it needed close supervision so I assumed everything would be alright if I wasn't there.... OR at least I would have received a phone call asking where the dishwasher is installed, SOMETHING. I had to cancel my plans for Christmas because I could not have the stove installed, the dishwasher was being put where it belongs on the day the stove was to be installed. So they essentially ruined my Christmas and tried to charge me for repairing some of the damage they did. I was charged $914 bucks for them to screw up my new cabinets and spend hours doing it. Do not use roto-rooter, or at least do not get the technician "Jesse" he is the one who is the "manager" and also the one who so rudely messed up my holiday's. If you do use roto-rooter make sure you babysit or you will surely get something damaged, and do NOT get "Jesse." I can't believe they didn't offer me credit to my account or maybe a fraction off of my bill for what they did. Brand NEW cabinets with multiple holes, dangerous materials everywhere, and the inconvenience of not having my dishwasher where it goes and then no stove for Christmas. It wasn't even like the dishwasher was functional when it was installed! The tech must have thought- "first ever gas dishwasher." Good thing he didn't try to connect it to the gas...
